Guess Who’s Back, Back Again

As you’ve probably already guessed, Locked Girl has returned from surgery… Locked Girl is, of course, still in the hospital. But she is alive, for those of you who might have grown concerned… Rather sore, but alive, and mostly fine. And not crooked anymore!

…Being on painkillers has certainly been…Β interesting. I’ve been somewhere between slightly loopy and fast asleep for the past several days now… and I’m definitely tired, my vision keeps blurring. This is unnatural.

*commence yawning*

But yeah, long story short, my back hurts, my stomach is kind of swollen, and I am in rather severe discomfort at the moment. There is basically nowhere that I can get comfortable. Which is only to be expected, I suppose, since I’m in this state. By which, of course, I mean ‘the state of recovering from major surgery’, not the state in which I live or the one in which I currently reside. As if that wasn’t enough, the drugs have been making it nearly impossible to write properly, which is insanely frustrating. Spelling and grammar mistakes are my enemies. And yet they keep popping up like a particularly persistent pestilence. For example, just a little while ago I first wrote ‘dedide’ instead of ‘reside’. How did I manage this fantastic error? I wish I knew. Instead, all I know is that writing on drugs is difficult. Don’t try it at home, kids. For everyone’s sake.

  1. I’m so happy to see you!! It’s all uphill (in a good way) from here! You are one dedicated, lovely person to be writing this from the hospital! That’s true awesome right there! Sending you lots of healing thoughts πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜β€οΈπŸ’œπŸ’™

    1. Thank you! πŸ™‚ I’ve been getting a lot of support from my family and friends, and the hospital staff is, frankly, excellent; so recovery has been a relatively quick process, especially thanks to a very, very go-get-em style surgeon. Things are looking up!

I just can’t wait to get home and see my cat. That is my greatest desire. *swoons blissfully at the very thought*

      1. I’m so so happy for you! On the road to healing and recovery already! So happy you have so much support, too – that’s a definite plus! And it sounds like you have a top-notch medical and aftercare team, too! How cool is that? Sending you *and* your kitty much love! That’s going to feel so good to get home and hug him/her πŸ˜»πŸ˜»πŸ’žπŸ’ž

        1. Yeah, my surgeon is fantastic. She’s been on television, and recently got an award–and the nurses are all super nice.

Her, specifically. Her name is Missy. She seems to be a tabby, but we’ve never been sure… and she can be really, really loving when the mood takes her, so I’m looking forward to seeing her again. Hopefully she’s not too perturbed… But yes. I am going to be petting her a lot when I get back, even though I can’t hold her yet. (She’s kind of fat, to be honest.

          1. Missy sounds so precious! I have an extra-soft spot for tabbies πŸ’žπŸ’ž. The affectionate ones are the best! Their love is so strong that it’s wonderful and hilarious at the same time 😁. She’ll fall back in line with you; kitties have long memories! πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’œ

              1. Awww! Sounds a little like our Vanessa πŸ˜‰. She’s a cute pudge! Very heavy but doesn’t overeat. I think probably her life situation when she was young πŸ’œ. They do get very cuddly! And then they purr like jackhammers lol πŸ€—πŸ€—. Which is so heavenly πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—
